On December 6th, 2023, Youth for CTBTO hosted their annual 2024 Global Art Campaign! This year’s theme centered on the concept of “a World with Nuclear tests vs a World without nuclear tests,” challenging the youth to create and share “their artistic expressions depicting a world their perspectives on the CTBT by illustrating the stark contrast between a world where nuclear weapons tests exist and one where they do not.” Exploring further modes of creativity, the youth were encouraged to submit visual arts, poetry, music/singing, dance, short films, and more! Acknowledging the great harm nuclear testing brings to people of color and the environment, Teens4Disarmament strongly supports this campaign and decided to participate in this advocacy to express our care and effort for a nuclear testing-free world. Teens4Disarmament submitted and choreographed a modern dance illustrating the grief of nuclear testing and its emotional effect on the environment and human lives. In this Global Art Campaign, Teens4Disarmamen left the top winners of this honorable competition! Through this experience, we hope to spread more awareness of nuclear testing and its physical and emotional harm to our world. Please check out our video for a full scope of our dance!
