    On December 23rd, 2022, Teens4Disarmament traveled to Hiroshima City. Together with two teenage girls, Teens4Disarmament walked inside of Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and around Hiroshima’s Peace Memorial Park.

    On December 23rd, together with Saya and Yuki san, Teens4Disarmament walked around Hiroshima’s Peace Memorial Park and witnessed the “Atomic Bomb Dome.”

  • CIF Speaker Series 2/22/23

    On February 22nd, 2023, to celebrate Black History Month, Teens4Disarmament participated in the Critical Issues Forum Speaker Series, “Intersections of Racial Justice and Nuclear Disarmament”. We had the greatest opportunity to meet with Dr. Vincent Intondi who shared with us how minorities played a huge role in nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation.

    On April 15th, 2023, high school students from all around the world came together and participated in Critical Issues Forum’s Spring Conference to discuss our passion for nuclear disarmament.

    Mr. Maksym Kapitanchuk, a world-renowned ballroom dancer and Academy Award nominee for the Documentary Film, “Walk, Run Cha-Cha” shared his view of nuclear disarmament with Teens4Disarmament.

    Christopher Nolan’s groundbreaking movie Oppenheimer begins with a quote, “Prometheus stole fire from the Gods and gave it to humans and he was chained to a rock for eternity.” This quote emphasizes a thought-provoking concept referenced throughout the movie from the origins of Greek Mythology, the “Promethean Gap.”

  • CIF Summer Conference

    Between July 27th to the 29th, Teens4Disarmament participated in the informative Critical Issues Forum’s (CIF) 2023 Summer Conference Program in Monterey, California. During our time at the CIF Summer Conference, we interacted with numerous students from schools in Japan and America which helped us understand the necessary steps to free the world of nuclear weapons.

  • Toro Nagashi

    On August 6th, 2023 Teens4Disarmament participated in the annual lantern event in Hiroshima known as “Toro Nagashi.” In regard to the people who died from the atomic bombing in Hiroshima, many people from around the world came together to provide vibrant lanterns and wish the victims’ spirits a peaceful rest. We stand there together deeply wishing for a world free of nuclear weapons.

  • Peace Forum at Jogakuin High School

    On August 7th, 2023 Teens4Disarmament participated in the 15th anniversary of Hiroshima Jogakuin’s Peace Forum. From discussions about nuclear waste storage to the scientific dangers of plutonium and uranium, Teens4Disarmament collaborated with many students across Japan to find solutions for a peaceful world; not just for us, but for the future.

  • 2024 Global Art Campaign

    On December 6th, 2023, Youth for CTBTO hosted their annual 2024 Global Art Campaign! This year’s theme centered on the concept of “a World with Nuclear tests vs a World without nuclear tests,” challenging the youth to create and share “their artistic expressions depicting a world their perspectives on the CTBT by illustrating the stark contrast between a world where nuclear weapons tests exist and one where they do not.”

  • Nuclear Weapon Education Research

    For this year’s Los Angeles County Science and Engineering Fair, Teens4Disarmament was esteemingly awarded first place in the Behavioral Science category, which consisted of more than 34 projects! Our experiment's title was: “Effects of Nuclear Weapon Education for High School Students.”

  • Nobel Peace Series: "Can a Peace Prize Prevent Nuclear War"

    On March 30th, Teens4Disarmament attended the Nobel Peace Series: "Can a Peace Prize Prevent Nuclear War" conference to further educate themselves about whether the Nobel Peace Prize played a role in mitigating the risk of nuclear weapons during the past and if it can support the action for nuclear disarmament by educating more people.

    Peace Forum at Westridge School

    Starting this year, Teens4Disarmament created the official Westridge Teens4Disarmament and Non-proliferation Club at the school to promote nuclear disarmament participation among teenagers. After months of hard work, the club made the “Peace Forum” to gather students from across the campus and educate them about nuclear disarmament.

  • Nuclear Weapon Education Resolution

    On July 9th, 2024, Teens4disarmament had the absolute pleasure and honor of meeting Pasadena’s first district council member, Mr. Tyron Hampton, and his secretary, Ms. Cushon Bell. In the meeting, we discussed our concern about the lack of nuclear weapon education in our community and presented the resolution we created to implement nuclear education in high schools. In addition, we also presented Back from the Brink’s resolution to ask for guidance and help regarding implementation.

  • Lanterns of Hope Speech

    On August 9th, 2024, Teens4Disarmament, PSR_la, BackfromtheBrink, and more organizations collaborated to host “The Lanterns of Hope” event beside the fountain near Gloria Molina Grand Park to commemorate the fallen lives of atomic bomb victims in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In the event, everyone was allowed to craft a paper lantern to respect the fallen victims in Hiroshima and Nagasaki and help them metaphorically transition smoothly into their next lives as lanterns floating in the fountain. The Lanterns of Hope” began with a poignant Japanese traditional dance followed by keynote speeches from many organizations (including Teens4Disarmament!) Please read for details!
