Teens’ Dialogue on Nuclear Disarmament and Non- Proliferation

Throughout the beginning of the school year, from late September till now, teens4disarmament participated and assisted in a non-profit organization called the “Personalization Project.” The Personalization Project, founded in Hiroshima, created an online foundation for students all around the globe to connect and communicate. High school students from Indonesia, the Philippines, and Japan through their computers on zoom learn and educate each other about their individual countries. In the sessions, the students immensely “personalized” with each other, their culture, and themselves. Mr. Kento Suzuki, the president of Personalization Project @Brown University and Ms. Suzu, the vice president of Personalization Project @Hiroshima University, provided a beautiful platform- weekly zoom sessions- that brought teens4disarmament opportunities to educate teens around the globe about nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation. The students discussed crucial and meaningful topics such as their country’s cultural aspects, views on other countries, and definitions of war and peace through the lens of nuclear disarmament. Teens4disarmament passionately believes without the crucial step of personalizing and individualizing issues, there is no way to make tangible and thoughtful action. With the unification of global teens to proactively address this problem, we believe meaningful change is inevitable. Every week teens4disarmament continues to make progress, each step at a time.
